Want Straight, Healthy Teeth and a Confident Smile?
Getting your teeth straightened isn’t just for teenagers anymore. Like many adults, you have probably wanted to straighten your teeth. Our teeth tend to get slightly crooked over time, especially if we wore braces as kids but stopped wearing our retainer at some point. Straightening your teeth as an adult may seem to be an impossible dream, and you’ve got a long list of reasons why you can’t do it. “I don’t want metal braces at my age,” or “It’ll be too much trouble,” or “It’ll take too long,” and—everyone’s old favorite—“It’ll be too expensive.”
Dr.Turner addresses your concerns here:
- “I don’t want metal braces at my age.” With Invisalign, you don’t wear metal braces. Instead, your teeth are straightened by wearing a series of virtually invisible plastic aligners. Almost no one can tell you’ve got the aligners on (unless you tell them).
- “It’ll be too much trouble.” Treatment with Invisalign is easy. You’ll receive a series of clear aligners, which you’ll wear for about two weeks at a time. You wear them all the time, except when you’re eating, drinking anything but water, brushing, and flossing.
- “It’ll take too long.” We can’t tell you exactly how long treatment will take. But Invisalign treatment takes, on average, about one year.
- “It’ll be too expensive.” Invisalign treatment is often similar in cost to traditional braces. In addition, if you have orthodontic coverage, Invisalign is often covered to the same extent as traditional braces. Dr. Turner also offers a variety of affordable payment plans. Our office will be happy to work with you on all of the insurance and financial details.

According to The Journal of the American Dental Association, two-thirds to three-fourths of adults have some degree of malocclusion (crooked teeth). Malocclusion presents many challenges to good oral hygiene.
- Overlapped or crooked teeth are much more difficult to clean at home.
- Usually, bone is irreversibly lost around misaligned teeth.
- Several large national studies have shown that the bacteria associated with periodontal disease can play a significant role in our overall health and is specifically linked to cardiac disease, diabetes, stokes, pancreatitis and pre-term under weight babies.
- The unique bacteria found around crooked or overlapped teeth has been shown to be much more aggressive and virulent than the bacteria around correctly positioned teeth.
- Crooked teeth left untreated will always worsen over time!
The simple fact is straight teeth are healthier, and more and more Americans are choosing aesthetic, low profile treatment solutions to get straighter teeth and correct their. One of the most popular of these aesthetic treatment options is Invisalign, a method of straightening teeth using a series of clear, almost invisible, removable aligners. Invisalign combines the doctor’s clinical treatment plan with proprietary 3-D, computer-generated software to make these sets of unique, custom-made aligners that move teeth in very precise increments.
While a beautiful, healthy smile is the most obvious benefit of orthodontic treatment, orthodontic health can also have a positive impact on overall physical health and self-esteem.

If you weren’t able to get your teeth straightened when you were younger, now is the time to find out more about Invisalign–the clear alternative to metal braces and wires.
Treatment with Invisalign is quick and easy. With Invisalign, you don’t wear metal braces. Instead, your teeth are straightened by wearing a series of clear plastic aligners. The aligners are so inconspicuous that most people won’t be able to tell you’re wearing them. You’ll wear each set of clear aligners for about two weeks at a time, while your teeth move little by little toward the smile you’ve always wanted. The aligners are worn all the time, except when you’re eating, drinking anything but water, brushing, and flossing. Because the aligners are removable, you can eat all your favorite foods.
On average, Invisalign treatment takes about eight months. The cost of treatment is similar in cost to traditional braces or less. In addition, if you have orthodontic coverage, Invisalign is often covered to the same extent as traditional braces. Dr. Turner also offers affordable payment plans. Recent studies reported in dental scientific journals describe some new information about the dangers of untreated gum disease. Fatal and non-fatal heart disease and strokes have been directly linked to active, untreated gum disease. Statistically, a patient with untreated periodontal disease is 280% more likely to suffer a stroke. In comparison, high cholesterol increases a patients risk just slightly less at 270%. 18% of all first time pre-term underweight pregnancies have been directly linked to untreated gum disease. Patients who have diabetes are three times as likely to have uncontrolled blood sugar levels if they have periodontitis and there is a link between un-controlled periodontits and the onset of Diabetes. To put gum disease in perspective, the surface area of tissue infected around a single tooth is about equivalent to the size of your palm. The bacteria from an infection in the mouth has been shown to spread throughout the body, aftecting one’s overall health and immune system! Let us help you resolve the infections around your teeth and enhance the well-being of your body and your soul.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment option that allows doctors to straighten teeth using a series of clear, removable, nearly invisible, plastic appliances called aligners.
How does Invisalign work?
The patient meets with an Invisalign-certified dentist or orthodontist who takes orthodontic records of the patient’s teeth, including impressions, and fills out an Invisalign treatment planning or prescription form and sends all the material to Align Technology. At Align, a computer model of the patient’s teeth is created from the impressions. Align then uses its advanced, 3-D imaging software to generate a graphical representation of the doctor’s treatment plan—almost like an animated movie of the way the patient’s teeth will move from the current position to the final desired position.
The doctor reviews and approves the rendering of his treatment plan (the 3-D movie) on a secure portion of Align’s website. Align Technology produces a series of clear, plastic aligners that correspond to the stages of tooth movement in the 3-D movie. The patient wears each stage of aligners for approximately two weeks before switching to the next set in the series. Week by week, the patient’s teeth are straightened millimeter by millimeter.
Is this a new way to straighten teeth?
Doctors have successfully used removable appliances for years for very limited treatment. With the application of 3-D computer technology, Invisalign can be used to treat almost anyone who wants straighter teeth.
What are the primary benefits of Invisalign?
- Nearly invisible: You can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
- Removable: You can eat and drink what you want.
- Better oral hygiene: You can brush and floss normally to maintain healthy gums and teeth.
- Comfortable: There are no wires, metal or brackets to cause mouth abrasion.
A relatively new and exciting field of dentistry. Implants allow us to replace missing teeth in an aesthetically pleasing way and to grow new bone in a post-extraction site that has lost bone. Implants can restore a single missing tooth, several teeth or can anchor a full or patial denture. Implant restorations do not corrode, discolor, get cavities or otherwise breakdown. Ask to see and hold implants at your next visit to the office.
